Need Help Right Now?

If gambling is causing distress for you or someone close to you, confidential support is available today. Talian Kasih: 15999 (Malaysia, 24-hour helpline)  ·  GamCare (international online support)  ·  Gamblers Anonymous Malaysia. Reach out — you don't have to deal with this alone.

Gambling Should Always Be Entertainment

At Gembet, we believe that betting on EPL matches, Liga Super Malaysia fixtures, UFC bouts, and live casino games should be an enjoyable leisure activity — never a financial strategy or an escape from personal difficulties. That distinction matters enormously, and it shapes every decision we make about how this platform operates.

Responsible gambling is not a footnote in our business. It is a core operational principle. We have built practical tools directly into the Gembet platform that put control in your hands — from daily deposit limits to full account self-exclusion. These tools are accessible at any time, directly through your account settings or via our 24/7 customer support team.

We also recognise that problem gambling rarely announces itself clearly. It often develops gradually, and the people most affected are frequently the last to recognise the signs. That is why Gembet invests in training, monitoring, and player education — not just the tools, but the awareness that makes those tools genuinely useful.

This page explains every responsible gambling measure available to Gembet players, the warning signs worth knowing about, and where to turn if you or someone you know needs support beyond what our platform can offer. Whether you are in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, or anywhere else in Malaysia — help is available.

The Gembet Responsible Gambling Pledge

Strict 21+ enforcement — Age verification is mandatory before any withdrawal is processed. Accounts suspected of underage activity are suspended immediately.
Self-exclusion on request — Any player can request a self-exclusion of 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year, or permanent exclusion, with immediate effect.
Deposit and loss limits — Set daily, weekly, or monthly MYR limits on deposits and losses directly in your account. Limit increases require a 7-day cooling-off period.
Reality checks and session timers — Receive on-screen notifications reminding you how long your current session has been active and how much you have wagered.
Staff training — Customer support agents are trained in responsible gambling identification and de-escalation, and will always prioritise player welfare over commercial outcomes.
No marketing to vulnerable players — Players who have set self-exclusions, cooling-off periods, or identified themselves as vulnerable are immediately removed from all promotional communications.

Built-In Controls for Safer Play

Every one of these tools is available free of charge, without judgment, directly through your Gembet account or via 24/7 live chat support.

Deposit Limits

Set a maximum MYR deposit amount for any daily, weekly, or monthly period. Once your chosen limit is reached, no further deposits can be processed until the period resets. Increases to existing limits take effect only after a mandatory 7-day waiting period — decreases are immediate.

Loss Limits

Define the maximum net loss you are comfortable with over a daily, weekly, or monthly window. When your loss limit is reached, betting and casino access is suspended for the remainder of that period. This tool is particularly useful for managing sports betting exposure during high-frequency matchdays like EPL weekends.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration in minutes or hours. When your session limit is reached, you will receive an on-screen notification and the option to end your session. You can also enable periodic reality-check pop-ups every 30, 60, or 90 minutes, showing your current session duration and net wagering activity.

Cooling-Off Period

Take a short break from the platform without fully closing your account. Cooling-off periods of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, or 30 days are available. During a cooling-off period, you cannot log in, deposit, or place bets. The period cannot be cancelled early once activated.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need a longer or permanent break, self-exclusion is available for periods of 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year, or permanently. Self-exclusion takes effect within minutes of your request. Gembet will not send promotional communications to excluded players, and requests to reverse a self-exclusion are subject to a mandatory reflection period.

Account Activity Review

Access a full record of your deposit history, withdrawal history, betting activity, and time spent on the platform at any time through your account dashboard. Reviewing this information regularly helps you stay aware of your actual gambling behaviour — not just how it feels in the moment.

How Deposit Limits Work — Example
Daily Deposit Limit RM200 limit set
RM80 used · RM120 remaining today
Weekly Deposit Limit RM800 limit set
RM576 used · RM224 remaining this week
Monthly Deposit Limit RM2,500 limit set
RM700 used · RM1,800 remaining this month
Key Rules on Limits
Decreasing a limit takes effect immediately — no waiting period.
Increasing a limit requires a 7-day cooling-off period before the higher amount takes effect.
Once a limit is reached for a given period, no further deposits can be processed — regardless of payment method used.
To set or adjust limits, go to Account Settings or contact our 24/7 live chat support team.

Is Your Gambling Still Under Control?

Problem gambling rarely appears overnight. It tends to develop gradually, and the shift from recreational play to harmful behaviour can be difficult to see clearly from the inside. The questions on the right are adapted from widely used screening tools. They are not a clinical diagnosis, but they are a meaningful starting point.

If you find yourself answering "Yes" or "Often" to several of these questions, that is a genuine signal worth taking seriously. The most important step is not to minimise it. Reach out to our support team or consult one of the support resources listed further down this page.

Answering "Yes" to three or more of these questions is associated with an elevated risk of problem gambling. Please consider using our self-exclusion or cooling-off tools, and reach out for confidential support.

1 Have you ever gambled with money that was set aside for essential expenses — rent, groceries, bills, or loan repayments?

2 Do you feel a strong urge to bet more after a loss, in an attempt to recover what you've lost?

3 Have you borrowed money, sold possessions, or used credit specifically to fund gambling activity?

4 Has gambling caused tension, arguments, or dishonesty in your relationships with family or close friends?

5 Do you find it difficult to stop gambling once you've started, even when you originally intended to play for a limited time?

6 Have you ever felt anxious, irritable, or restless when you tried to cut back on or stop gambling?

Recognising Problem Gambling

Problem gambling affects people across all income levels, professions, and backgrounds. It is not a character flaw — it is a recognised behavioural condition with established treatment pathways.

The warning signs are not always dramatic. Often they are quiet, gradual shifts in behaviour that are easy to rationalise. Understanding them makes it easier to act early — when intervention is most effective.

Unexplained gaps in savings or bank balances. Requesting loans from family or friends without a clear reason. Falling behind on regular bills — utilities, rent, hire purchase — despite having a stable income. Withdrawing cash frequently and in amounts that don't match known spending. Selling personal items or assets without a clear purpose. Using mobile banking apps or e-wallets like Touch 'n Go or Boost to fund gambling beyond comfortable limits.

Withdrawing from family gatherings or social events to gamble. Being secretive about time spent online or about finances. Becoming irritable or defensive when gambling habits are questioned by family members. Lying about the amount of time or money spent on betting. Neglecting responsibilities — at work, at home, or in personal relationships — because of gambling activity.

Gambling to escape feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, or boredom rather than for entertainment. Feeling a "high" or relief specifically from the act of placing bets. Experiencing significant mood swings tied to wins and losses. Feeling guilt or shame after a session, followed by a return to gambling to manage those feelings. Using gambling as a primary coping mechanism for personal or professional difficulties.

Spending significantly more time gambling than originally intended, session after session. Repeatedly trying to cut back but being unable to maintain those reductions. "Chasing losses" — continuing to bet specifically to recover money lost in previous sessions. Needing to bet with increasingly larger amounts to experience the same level of excitement. Continuing to gamble even after having decided to stop.

Recognising these signs — in yourself or someone you care about — is the most important first step. Early intervention is significantly more effective than waiting until the situation reaches a crisis point. Gembet's support team is available 24/7 and will handle any responsible gambling conversation with complete confidentiality.

Strictly 21 and Above

Gembet enforces a strict minimum age of 21 years for all account holders, in line with responsible gambling standards applicable to casino-style betting platforms. This is not a formality — it is actively enforced through KYC identity verification before any withdrawal is processed.

Any account found to have been registered by a person under 21 will be suspended immediately. All funds in such accounts are subject to forfeiture, and the matter may be reported to relevant authorities. We take underage gambling seriously because the evidence is clear: exposure to gambling at a young age significantly increases the lifetime risk of developing problem gambling behaviours.

If you are a parent or guardian and you are concerned that a minor in your household may have accessed this platform, please contact our support team immediately at [email protected]. We will respond as a priority. We also recommend the use of parental control software on shared devices to prevent underage access to any online gambling platform.

Under 21? You cannot play.
21 and above? Play responsibly.
